Biography

Jim Pond is director of worldwide operations for Mentor Graphics, a position he has held since 1987. He directs a culturally diverse worldwide staff of approximately 200, responsible for 74 high-technology research and development, sales, training, and manufacturing sites occupying more than 1.2 million square feet worldwide. He also develops and implements Worldwide Operations policies and practices, and, is a core member of the company's Global Merger Management Team and Sarbanes-Oxley Steering Committee.

He was directly responsible for justification, design, development, construction, and 1991 occupancy of the $68-million corporate headquarters site in Wilsonville, ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ. Prior to joining Mentor, Jim worked at Intel and Tektronix in Facility Management. He was a full-time faculty member at Simon Fraser University from 1973 to 1976 and at OSU from 1976 to 1981. He has served on the OSU Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering Advisory Board. Jim received his bachelor's degree from Georgia Tech, where he also played intercollegiate football and was an All-American intercollegiate wrestler.
